Course Overview
- Course Description: “Get ready, set, GO!” Believe it or not, you can travel through a text without leaving where you are. In this course, you can take off on an adventure through real and imagined stories to prepare you for success in becoming a well-rounded learner. Get ready to learn new words and skills to better communicate with your peers and adults. Reading a variety of texts will expand your knowledge of the cultures and people around you. You will be able to connect ideas from your reading to real-life situations. Reading for enjoyment is a treasure, and this course will allow you to do just that. In this course, you will research a topic that interests you and create a multimedia project to present your findings. Did you know that a published book can still be revised? Just like published authors, you will dive into the revision process and learn new techniques to improve your writing skills. This course aims to provide opportunities for you to become a more effective communicator and writer as you develop an appreciation for the many voices found while reading as a middle school student. You should be able to make meaningful connections with real-life experiences and be ready to tackle what seventh-grade English has in store.
